Tree Planting

Have you just had a tree removal project completed? Thinking you need to plant more trees? There’s no better way to help Edmonton’s urban forest than to plant trees on your property. Choosing the right type of tree that can withstand Edmonton’t various weather conditions is crucial to the future health of our urban forests.

Working alongside community groups and Canada trees program we have been involved in many tree planting events to help communities in our service areas. Our lil trees program allows students involved in the Canada trees program to come out and learn how to prune and maintain trees alongside our team.

Making the right choice

Choosing the right tree is crucial to its survival. For a tree to thrive in its environment, its species must be conditioned to Edmonton’s various weather conditions. Edmonton’s urban forest thrives with trees classified in zone 4b.

Location is always a big factor when planning for your tree’s location. How much sun does your tree of choice need? How much water is too little or too much? What is the soil condition like? What hazards will the tree grow into? These are just a few of the questions we ask ourselves when planning a tree planting project.

Choosing the right contractor. As usual, take your time, ask the right questions. Work with someone you feel the most comfortable with. Work with a contractor that knows what to choose, where to plant and why.

Tree removal & planting

Our tree removal team can remove any size tree safely and efficiently. Once a tree is removed we offer our stump grinding service. Should you want a tree planted in its place we’d offer our stump removal service.

Our stump removal process entails excavating the complete root ball out of the ground and digging up / grinding the surrounding roots. This will make room for fresh soil with the proper nutrients for the new root ball.

All our tree planting projects are finished with mulch rings and staking for tree support. We’ll also leave you with all the information needed for future care of your tree. Once that root system takes off and the tree is growing and thriving, we will be back for that first prune or maybe even to plant more trees.

Gardens

We can help with your gardening needs as well. If your garden is overgrown with various plant material that’s barely recognizable and shrubs have grown into trees, maybe it’s time for a reset. Most shrubs can re-grow after they’re cut down.

If a new start is what you’re looking for then we can help. We can dig out your entire garden, add fresh earth with peat moss and plan your new garden with you.
